In the summer of 2023, the office of MA State Representative Smitty Pignatelli initiated a regional needs assessment and community dialogue related to housing instability and food instability in Berkshire County. This initiative had three primary components: an open-ended online survey, a prioritization survey, and an in-person community summit held in Lenox.
This report details the three primary components, provides a survey data matrix, captures a synopsis of public comments from the over 100 attendees at the in-person Summit, and concludes with an extensive contact list of those who participated in the survey and Summit. Download the report (PDF) here.
The Summary Report intends to inform housing and food insecurity policy, catalyze increased collaboration, and shape future programming for Berkshire residents.
The Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation, Berkshire United Way, and the Berkshire Regional Planning Commission funded the Summit.
